Rev. Ron Elkin was raised in a religious Jewish home and trained in Judaism, but in 1966 he began a search for spiritual truth. This search led him from Philadelphia, PA, to India, then on to California. After many years of wandering in a spiritual desert, he became convinced in 1976 that Jesus was the promised Messiah of Israel.

Rev. Elkin returned to Philadelphia and began a successful pest control company. However, Ron's burden to bring the Gospel to Jewish people continued to grow. While supervising his business, he founded Ammi Ministry in 1984 at a church in Center City, Philadelphia ("Ammi" is Hebrew for "My People"). Later he graduated from Philadelphia Biblical University's Jewish Missions program and then went on to complete a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies at Biblical Theological Seminary and to study the Russian language at the Graduate School of Columbia International University. In 1993 Ron sold his pest control business to concentrate on full-time mission work with Ammi Ministry.

His wife Jackie, who is an award-winning graphic designer, complements Rev. Elkin in his ministry. Through Ammi Ministry, they seek to reach some of the 300,000 Jewish people in the Philadelphia area. In spite of death threats, their ministry has distributed over 1,000,000 tracts and witnessed to thousands of people. Both Jews and Gentiles have become believers in Jesus through these efforts.

Presently, AMMI Ministry is concentrating on 70,000 Russian-speaking Jewish refugees who have moved to Philadelphia due to persecution in Russia and Ukraine. Through English and Bible classes, and friendship, AMMI is presenting a Gospel witness through Words & Deeds. Ammi Ministry also brings the gospel to other Russian-speaking ethnic groups, including Muslims.

Rev. Elkin has ministered in hundreds of churches, Bible colleges, and seminaries from Mississippi to Vermont. He has trained thousands of Christians in Jewish Evangelism, history, and culture. He enjoys teaching Christians about the roots of their faith as seen in the feasts of Israel and the Messianic prophecies. His enthusiastic teachings show the unity of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and through them he desires to equip believers with God's word and challenge unbelievers to repent.
